August FILMS to look out for!!!

August FILMS to look out for!!

So July was a very hot month for England and I am sure the rest of the world are suffering a little heat stroke, so it is a really good thing that for the next few months we have a great selection of movies about to be released!!

Unlike last time where I gave you a small synopsis of the movie, this time I am also going to give you the rating (if it has one yet), length of film (if they have it) and the genre. I do not want anyone going and seeing a movie which might not be entirely suitable.

In date order:

The Heat (15) (117mins) (Action-Comedy) 31/07/2013

The plot centers on FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn and Boston Detective Shannon Mullins and their adventure at taking down a mobster. Love, Action and Comedy the perfect blend for Date Night.

The Conjuring (15) (112mins) (Supernatural-Horror-Thriller)

Carolyn and Roger Perron move into an old farmhouse with their five daughters. The supernatural goings-on begin with the dog being to frightened to enter the house. Gradually the weird happenings become so dangerous that evil spirits begin to possess the bodies of the mothers and daughters. Carolyn and Roger approach two paranormal investigators and ask them to help.

Definitely not for the faint hearted and would advise not to bring children-it should be rated 18!

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (PG) (106mins) (Fantasy-Adventure)

Percy Jackson (Logan Lerman) lives among other children whose parents are gods and humans. When the safety of their camp is threatened, he needs to round up his friends and travel into the treacherous Sea of Monsters – also known as the Bermuda Triangle – in search of a Golden Fleece in order to protect his people.

Kick Ass 2 (15) (103mins) (Action)

The return of the favourite non-superheros. Kick Ass is returning to his SuperHero career but this time he is apart of a group called “Justice Forever”. He also finds love in the form of NightBitch. Unfortunately Hit Girl is retiring at the request of her new guardian. “Justice Forever” battle with the mega super villain “The Mother Fucker” and his crew “The Toxic Mega Cunts”.

To be honest I was not a fan of the first film, a little far-fetched in my opinion and trying to be to modern. Still a few laughs to be have, god only knows if this film will carry on the laughter or go the way that all sequels inevitably end up going-the trash!

kick ass

Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa (15) (90mins) (Comedy)

Following on from the hugely inventive and clever creation of the character Alan Partridge by Steve Coogan, this time he is spreading his talents to the film world. A DJ has been fired from North Norfolk Digital when it is taken over by a multinational conglomerate and renamed Shape. He returns from the Office Party with a gun and takes the station hostage and the only person he will talk to is Alan Partridge.

The Smurfs 2 (U) (104mins) (Animation/Comedy)

The Smurfs team up with their human friends to rescue Smurfette, who has been kidnapped by Gargamel since she knows a secret spell that can turn the evil sorcerer’s newest creation – creatures called the Naughties – into real Smurfs. Great for kids, and i assume that it will be a good watch irregardless if you have watched the first film or not.

Elysium (15) (109mins) (Action/Drama/Sci-Fi)

Set in the year 2154, where the very wealthy live on a man-made space station, while the rest of the population resides on a ruined Earth, a man takes on a mission that could bring equality to both worlds. The new “Bourne Identity” for Matt Damon trying to reinvent his action-style in the Film World but this time with no hair!

We’re The Millers (15) (110mins) (Comedy/Crime)

A veteran pot dealer creates a fake family as part of his plan to move a huge shipment of weed into the U.S. from Mexico. Then chaos ensues.

A bit like Pineapple Express only with the aid of a fake family.

Grown Ups 2 (12A) (101mins) (Comedy)

After moving his family back to his hometown to be with his friends and their kids, Lenny finds out that between old bullies, new bullies, schizo bus drivers, drunk cops on skis, and 400 costumed party crashers- sometimes crazy follows you.

The original Grown Ups was not good, so whether this will be any different remains to be seen…

Monsters University (U) (104mins) (Animation/Comedy)

Following Mike and Sully back to where they met at University. Fun amongst friends and other animals, definitely one for the kids!!
